Your e-mail address is used to identify users to our web page, to receive and process your orders, notification of new product, updates and news concerning our website and will not be made available or sold to any other company.
This is an enquiry based website. All prices quoted on this website are in South African Rand and are inclusive of 15% Value Added Tax (VAT).
Website prices may vary from time to time. Devonport Lighting makes every effort to assure the accuracy of the pricing and product information on our website. From time to time, pricing or information may be inaccurate. In such cases, once an order has been placed, Devonport Lighting will e-mail you a quotation with the correct information for your approval.
Devonport Lighting will confirm your order on check-out by sending you an automatic confirmation e-mail.
From time to time lamps may be sold out from the chosen supplier. We will then quote you for an equivalent lamp from an alternative supplier that is in stock.
Devonport Lighting will e-mail you a quotation confirming prices and availability of your order with-in 48hrs from automatic confirmation. Some items have a longer lead time and this will be stated on your quotation. If any items are not available, Devonport Lighting will contact you to offer you an alternative where possible.
On acceptance of the quotation, an invoice will be e-mailed to you so that payment can be made. Order processing will not begin until we receive a confirmed order and full payment is reflected in our bank account. This can take up to 3 working days depending on the bank the payment is made from. We will only accept Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments. The exact amount stated on the invoice must be paid. Please use the invoice number as a reference and email the proof of payment to us. Payments must be made within 3 (three) working days from receiving your invoice.
Orders may be cancelled that have not already been shipped. A 20% handling fee will be charged. This will be deducted from the refund due to the customer.
Special or customised product orders cannot be cancelled. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing or email by Devonport Lighting.
Delivery charges are not included in the prices of the product.
Free delivery applies to all purchases over R1000.00 within ta 30km radius of Devonport Lighting despatch depot (Diep River, Cape Town)
Deliveries for purchases under R1000.00 will be charged for at R150.00 inc vat within the 30km radius of Devonport Lighting despatch depot (Diep River, Cape Town).
All other local, national and international deliveries will be quoted for accordingly.
Deliveries may be collected at Devonport Lighting despatch depot (Diep River, Cape Town) at no cost.

Please provide a correct and accurate delivery address as title and risk will pass on to you once the order has left our premises. A street or business address for delivery is preferable as well as a contact number.
Devonport Lighting will contact you during office hours regarding the delivery.
Please note that the courier will not leave a package without a signature. Should the delivery of the customers order be returned to us undeliverable, we will contact you to make arrangements for re-delivery.
Should the second delivery attempt fail due to customers’ not being available, subsequent delivery and / or handling charges will be for the customers’ account.
Devonport Lighting will not be held responsible for any direct or indirect consequences of non-delivery due to external constraints or climatic conditions.
Depending on product and availability, delivery can take between 3 – 5 days for locations within 50kms radius of nearest main city; 5 – 7 days in respect of locations that fall between 51 – 250km radius of nearest main city and 7 – 10 days for locations which fall outside a radius of 250km of nearest main city.
Delivery will take place within normal office hours – Monday to Friday between 8:00am & 5:00pm.
If an order is cancelled after it has been despatched, a 20% handling fee will be retained by Devonport Lighting before refunding the customer.
All products purchased from us must be installed by a qualified electrician otherwise all guarantees and/or warranties become null & void.
Devonport Lighting wants you to be confident and satisfied with your purchase. Please check your purchase as soon as you receive it to make sure that is what you have ordered, the item is not damaged and is what you require. Please advise Devonport Lighting within 48 hours in writing if there any damages or faults with the product. We will arrange collection of the damaged items. Once we have received and assessed the item, we will replace the item (if possible), arrange a credit or refund you.
Should you change your mind about the purchase you have made, please let us know, in writing, within 7 days of receipt of your purchase. No special or customised orders may be returned. The purchase must be returned to us at your cost within 14 days. Returns must be in their original packaging which must not be damaged, original labels and stickers must still be attached and all components supplied with the item must be included. The item must not be damaged or have been installed. You can return the item to us at our premises. Once we have checked the return, we will either change it for a different item or refund you the full amount paid less 20% handling fee.
If the incorrect goods have been shipped to you, we will arrange to collect the goods at our cost. Once we have inspected the product and validated your return, we will then ship the correct product (if available) to you at our cost, or should you choose, let you have a full refund.
If a product has failed or is defective under warranty, contact us immediately. We will advise where the faulty goods need to be sent. Once we have received the faulty goods along with the proof of purchase, we will return the faulty product to the supplier for testing who will then either approve or reject the claim. If approved, the goods will be repaired or replaced. If the warranty claim is rejected, the reason will be communicated to the client who can then advise on how they wish to proceed. All warranties are as stated by the supplier.
For your returns, a registered courier that uses tracking numbers with a 24 hour helpline is recommended. If the goods are lost and you do not have a tracking number, we will not refund or replace them. Your package must be insured for safe return and the full value of the shipment declared. Failure to do so will mean any loss or damage will be for your account.
All of our listed products have a supplier warranty of 1 (one) year from date of receipt of our invoice. This warranty covers faulty workmanship and/or material. The details of the warranty will be stated in a leaflet found inside or on the product packaging. Please ensure that you, the client, make yourself aware of the warranty and any terms and conditions stated therein.
The product is to be used according to its designed function and according to the manufacturers operating instruction supplied with the product. Failure to do so will render the warranty null and void.
Please inform us immediately in writing of any faulty product that falls within the warranty period.
All labour to remove and re install product as well as transport to and from our premises is not covered under the warranty.
All shipping and insurance costs to return the product to us will be for the clients account. Proof of purchase must be provided with the return. Any components that were supplied with the product at the time of purchase (if applicable) are to be returned as well. The product will then be returned to the supplier for assessment and repair or replacement.
It will be at the suppliers’ discretion as to what method will be offered to remedy the faulty product.
Devonport Lighting will keep you informed regarding the progress of your claim.
The warranty will not cover the following: Negligence, modifications, inadequate maintenance, power surges/spikes, water ingress in non-waterproof product, product that has been tampered with, incorrect installation or misuse of product.
The warranty will also not cover disasters such as flood, fire, earthquake, lightning, hurricanes, or other natural disasters.
A product may have an extended supplier warranty that extends beyond one year. Should the product fail beyond the extended one year warranty period, please advise us immediately within the extended warranty period. All of the above will apply.

Devonport Lighting regrets any errors or omissions that may occur. Sizes and colours could vary from the actual product.
